Web-based Content Management System
The Challenge: Provide Tsinoy.com with a password protected, web browser-based content management system that:
- Allows content contributors to access a user-friendly, web browser-based interface that allows them to post articles using plain text and upload corresponding image files.
- Allow Tsinoy.com content editors to update existing content and approve recently posted articles for production.
- Enables a scheduling mechanism to allow the server to dynamically post content according to a specific date.
- Enable Tsinoy.com site administrators to manage site services and features.
The Solution: After analyzing the Tsinoy.com site architecture and services, Quantum X developed a content management system using ColdFusion that interfaces with the Tsinoy.com content database through Microsoft SQL Sever. In addition, a user authentication tool was developed that allow registered contributors, editors and administrators to log in to the content management system.
The Result: A lot of development time and effort was minimized since articles are posted by contributors directly to the content management system without the assistance of technical administrators. Second, editiors can easily schedule content to be published a month in advance. Third, Tsinoy.com site sections are easily maintained by site administrators which can be accessed through any web browser connected to the Internet.
